7th annual Basin City Freedom Rodeo set to celebrate America's 250th

The seventh annual Basin City Freedom Rodeo is set to celebrate America’s 250th birthday in PRCA Rodeo style.

Freedom Rodeo President Kameron Jenks shared, “As we celebrate the 250th birthday of the United States of America, we invite everyone to join us at the 2026 Freedom Rodeo July 2, 3, 4 for a celebration of our nation’s freedom, Western Heritage, and community.

Since the Freedom Rodeo began in 2020, it has grown from a vision of bringing people together into a tradition that honors the values that make America strong. Rodeo represents hard work, determination, patriotism, and the spirit of the West - values that continue to unite us today.”

Gates open each night at 5pm with rodeo action kicking off at 7:30pm. Food, clothing, and other vendors will be on hand at Basin City Memorial Park. Tickets can be purchased at Basin City Hardware or online at https://www.bcfreedomrodeo.com/.

For free rodeo action catch the Slack performances. July 2, you can see Breakaway Roping. July 3, catch Regular Slack, Tiedown Roping,Team Roping, Steer Wrestling, and more. Slack opens at 8am each day.

You can also catch Barrel Racing Slack after the rodeo on July 2 and 3.

Rodeo theme nights include: Wrangler - Bucking Cancer on July 2, Legacy Ag Day on July 3 which concludes with Zac Burrell in the 1776 Room following the rodeo for music and dancing (free to all).

July 4, join the Rodeo and community for the annual 4th of July Parade along Rd-170 at 10am.

The Rodeo’s final night, July 4, is Patriot Day complete with fireworks and entertainment by Dakota Robins in the 1776 room - open to one and all following the rodeo.

Each night, you will enjoy watching the Mutton Bustin’ and Goat Ribbon Pull as local and visiting kids take their chance in the Rodeo Arena.

Bring your lawn chairs or blankets and grab your spot on the grass in the hometown arena.
