Lack of candidates in Franklin County - leads to special filing period

Pasco, WA - Due to a lack of candidates filing for various elective offices in Franklin County, the Franklin County Elections Office in compliance with RCW 29A.24.181, declared a special filing period will be held May 30, 31 and June 1, 2023.

Positions still seeking candidates included the Basin City Water Sewer District, Mayoral position for the City of Mesa along with council member positions, Fire District 1, and the Star School District. See complete list of open positions below.

Persons willing to run for the open positions must file a “Declaration of Candidacy” on the above dates either online at www.franklincountywa.gov/elections or in-person between the hours of 8:30am and 5:00pm at the following location:
