North Franklin School District Board of Directors approved the recommendation from Superintendent Brian Moore to hire Todd Hausman as the new Connell Elementary Principal during their Board meeting held Monday, April 28. Superintendent Moore shared that it is ultimately the board who hires.

Hausman comes from the Lake Chelan School District where he serves as Associate Principal at Morgan Owens Elementary. Hausman has previous teaching experience for third, fourth, and fifth grade at various schools including Bay View Elementary (Burlington), Happy Valley Elementary (Bellingham), and Sunnyland Elementary (Bellingham). He’s also been the Director of Leadership for Teachers United and an Assessment Consultant for Riverside Publishing Company.

Moore stated it was a very competitive process with 12 candidates being narrowed down to two. “It came down to the little extras,” Moore said.

At site visits last week the committee saw their schools. “It was really fun to see his school and watch him work. He is a high energy guy, a cowboy at heart, and he’s got a strong instructional background.” Moore added, “I think he’s going to do a really good job and fit really well with the team. Amy’s going to be really hard to replace but I think he’ll do great.”
