Mission Miguel is a Fundraiser to support Miguel in his fight against brain Cancer

On Sunday, August 17, from 4 to 8 pm, the community will unite at the home of Jed and Alyssa Pauley (1590 Juniper Road, Mesa, WA) for a heartfelt fundraising event to support 14-year-old Miguel Martinez, a local teen battling aggressive brain cancer. This vibrant, family-friendly event aims to raise $250,000 to help cover Miguel’s costly and intensive medical treatments, giving him a fighting chance at recovery.
Miguel, known for his infectious smile and love for the color green, has touched the hearts of many in our community. His diagnosis has spurred many into action, with neighbors, friends, and local businesses coming together to organize an unforgettable evening filled with fun, food, and hope.
Event Highlights
The fundraiser promises something for everyone:
• Swimming in the Pauleys’ pool, perfect for cooling off in the August heat.
• A corn hole tournament and pickleball matches for friendly competition.
• Soccer games for kids and adults to show off their skills.
• Face painting and bounce houses to keep the younger crowd entertained.
• A silent auction featuring donated items from school efforts and others in our community including gift baskets, experiences, and more. We will also have a 50/50 raffle.
• Delicious food and drinks, including tacos, hot dogs, Italian sodas, snow cones, and other treats.
In honor of Miguel’s favorite color, expect plenty of green decorations creating a festive atmosphere that reflects his spirit.
A Cause Close to Our Hearts
Miguel’s treatment is both expensive and grueling, involving specialized care that places a significant financial burden on his family. The $250,000 goal will help cover medical bills, travel for treatments, and other essential expenses, allowing Miguel and his family to focus on his recovery.
Miguel is a fighter, and we want him to know that our entire community is in his corner. This fundraiser is about more than money—it’s about showing Miguel and his family they’re not alone.
