A 46 year old Everett man was killed early this morning on highway 395. The fatal accident occured on Northbound Highway 395, halfway between Mesa and Connell on Thursday, March 12. The ncident closed down the roadway to one lane from 6:30 am until after 10:00 am. Traffic was backed up for over two miles in the area of the accident.


The Washington State Patrol shared that a driver was going northbound on SR 395 when they hit a person in the left lane around 6:15 am. An investigation is underway as to why the person was on the highway.


A vehicle was found in the southbound lanes - still running, which is assumed to be the victims. It is undertermined why they left the vehicle or why they went into the northbound lanes.


The deceased person has been identified as Tony E Hicks, 46, of Everett, Washington. The driver, William A Cromton (65) of Milton Freewater, Or. was taken to Lourdes Hospital with injuries. No criminal charges are being filled in this accident.
