EAGLES BASEBALL TAKES 1st ROUND OF DISTRICT PLAYOFFS

The Eagles took the first round of SCAC Districts on Thursday, May 7, with an exciting 4-2 victory over the Royal Knights.

Connell was first on the board in the top of the first inning with a single. But both teams remained scoreless for the next three innings. The Eagles really hit in the fifth putting up an additional three runs. Royal got on the board in the sixth inning.

Hunter VanHollebeke was huge on the mound for the Eagles as he went the distance, striking out seven Knight batters while only throwing 88 pitches in the complete game victory. The Eagles defence backed Vanhollebeke with some outstanding plays as well.

Tucker Thomasson had a big day at the plate collecting two of the Eagle’s six base hits.

The  Eagles victory was the end of their six game losing streak. Bumping their record to 14-7.

The Eagles will now advance to take on the number 2 seed Zillah Leopards on Saturday in Zillah with gametime set for 1:00 for a chance to advance to the State tournament.
