Eagles Cross Country at State

A parade through the hallway led by the CHS ASB was given to Lucy Campbell - as she headed to represent the Eagles at Cross Country State on Friday, Nov. 12

Campbell was excited to participate among the best and see how she would compete amongst them. “And this year I was like, I am one of the best this year, so let’s see how I do,” Campbell shared.

“I am so happy for the opportunity to be able to go,” Campbell shared with the Graphic, “I am very happy to represent Connell and run a really good race. And I have, I think I’ve been the first. I think I was the first girl on the podium since like 2004 up from Connell.”

While she didn’t run a personal record (PR), she did make her goal of getting on the podium (picture) taking 15th out of 170 or so runners.

“My goal was to get top 30, actually, and like, top 15 - was really good. I was really happy,” she said enthusistically.

“I have one year left - so lets see how I do next year,” Campbell added.
