Football Dominates Badgers for Coach Forsyth’s First Win

Bonners Ferry, ID – The Connell High School (1-2) football team ventured to Bonners Ferry, ID to go looking to avenge last season’s 14-6 home loss to the Bonners Ferry Badgers (1-3) on Friday, September 15. The Eagles dominated the game in all aspects. They recovered an early fumble and scored the first points on the ensuing drive. Connell never looked back as they won 52-0.


Carson Lloyd led the offensive outburst with five passing touchdowns in the blowout victory, completing 14 of his 21 passes for 229 yards and no interceptions. Jackson Forsyth led the rushing attack with 142 yards and 3 touchdowns on 16 carries. Kellen Riner led the team with 6 receptions and 112 yards and two touchdown. Jackson Price had four receptions for 57 yards and two touchdowns in the win and Mathieu Cope had a receiving touchdown among his 4 receptions and 34 yards receiving in the big win.


The Badgers’ defense could not stop the Eagles’ offense, as the Eagles racked up 391 total yards of offense. The Eagles’ defense held the Badgers’ offense to 100 total yard, 84 passing and 16 rushing. The defense also completed the shutout.


The Eagles will host the home opener on Friday, September 22 to face the #7 ranked La Center Wildcats (3-0), who beat Connell 49-7 last year in Connell. Come out and support your Connell Eagles in the Idaho Panhandle.
