Olympia, WA - The Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA), the governing body of all school sports and activities, announced the All Academic State Teams for winter sports and activities this past week. All winter sports teams and activities at Connell High School are on the list for high academic achievement. A team must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 in the previous semester to earn an All-Academic State Team designation.
Boys wrestling varsity and JV, Basketball Cheer, Band, and Choir all received the Distinguished Academic Team Award for having a cumulative GPA between 3.0 and 3.49 among all team members. Receiving the Outstanding Academic Team Award for having at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA were Drama, both girls basketball teams, and all three boys basketball teams. No team earned the All Academic State Championship Team Award this winter. Congratulations to our very successful student athletes. Continue to shine in the classroom and in your sport.
